Exercise of The Week: Balance Fly

FlyThis week we are going to work out our arms. To add a little more fun we are going to add an exercise ball (some people call it a swiss ball) as well as some dumbbells. This exercise is called the Balance fly and it is not really complicated to do, I always prefer exercises that can be done by anyone. I found this one from Shape Magazine and thought it was really fun…Well as far as exercises go.

So how do we start? Well first you must pull out that lovely exercise ball and place your left shin on the ball. Your right foot should be in front of you with your knees slightly bend. like in the picture above. Now hold your dumbbells in each of your hands and bend forward from your hips.  Make sure the hands holding the dumbbells are straight down and that palms are facing each other. Now you should look like picture A.

Now, you are going to raise your arms outward to your sides and raise them to shoulder height. You should now look like B. Make sure you do not lock your elbows. Do 2-3 sets of 10 reps, switching legs halfway through set. That’s it. It may sound complicated but really it is all about making sure that you focus on your form.

I like to joke that I am "a well of useless information" but for once I can share that information with people that might want to listen. I love trying new things and now I have an audience to share it with...hopefully. I hope you enjoy what you read :)
