Life Lessons From The Lion King…Learn From The Past
When you start thinking about your past it can stir up various different images. Sometimes it can remind you of happy moments, proud moments, and sometimes even some moments you would like to forget. This happens to everyone! I doubt there is anyone who doesn’t have a few regrets in there past, and some of those mistakes can have the tendency to plague them. Some memories can be extremely painful and even cause you to think badly of yourself or of the mistakes you have made. It is hard to think of some of those memories but you should never let them drag you down.
It is easy to tell someone “it is in the past let it go”, but it is another to actually do it. I have had my fair share of mistakes and yes sometimes they flood my mind, but I constantly work to try to improve. I refuse to let my past dictate my future, I just try to learn from those mistakes. Running from your past doesn’t work, it just finds you and hits you harder. What you have to do is accept that things happened and that you are not that person anymore. If your past memories were of you failing at something, just tell yourself “It tried, failed, and got back up”. Don’t judge yourself for failings or short comings just be proud of yourself for trying and moving on. No matter how many times you replay those memories in your head they will not change. Trust me no matter how you try you won’t be able to change your past. It is what it is, just make sure that you learn something from it.
Mistakes happen. Sad things happen. Life happens. The most important thing to remember is that you made it. No matter what happened in your past, YOU made it. You may have been sad, hurt, ashamed of who you became, but you finally got yourself out of that. You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. Don’t ever let anyone make you feel bad about yourself because of what you have been through, you are amazing! You went through sad times, hard times, and maybe times that you wish you could forget…all that matters is that you made it. Try not to let your past make you feel like you are “not enough”, just take those memories and let them help you move forward. Learn what you can, and try to be the best version of yourself that you can be. You are amazing and don’t you dare forget that. As always, keep being amazing and…
