Thanksgiving Splurging…no need for shame
Thanksgiving is a holiday where we give thanks for everything we have… and stuff our faces. I don’t know about you but I thoroughly enjoy this holiday and the tasty food that comes a long with it. I spend all day helping woth the cooking and then get rewarded with the table full of different delicious foods and desserts. So what is a person who is trying to eat better and lead a healthier life supposed to do? Am I to sit in the corner of shame eating only a carrot as everyone has plates of delicious foods? NO!
It is okay to splurge once in a while. It will not ruin you. It will not make you have to start back from the beginning. There is no shame in eating an unhealthy meal and then the next day going back to your regular habits. Like my little picture above states “one bad meal won’t make you fat. Just like one good meal won’t make you skinny”! It is okay to indulge and not feel guilty about it. If you deprive yourself from the foods you enjoy you will just set yourself up for failure. You will grow tired of your “diet” and then have a crazy food binge. Don’t do this to yourself. Just have the things you enjoy in moderation. And if you do want to give up certain foods, great…just don’t beat yourself if you have a cheat day here or there. You have to remember that you are human and if you slip up it is okay! no reason to hate yourself or get upset with yourself. Today is another day and you WILL conquer it, so don’t worry.
Just Keep Moving Forward!
